Softball Game Preview: Jackson Center Tigers vs. Botkins Trojans

The Jackson Center Tigers are taking a road trip to face off against the Botkins Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Jackson Center made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hardin Northern, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers put the hurt on the Polar Bears with a sharp 13-4 victory on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Tigers considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Botkins posted their closest win since April 16, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Shawnee. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.

The win got Jackson Center back to even at 2-2. As for Botkins, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Jackson Center took their win against Botkins when the teams last played back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 25-10 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
