Saratoga Springs had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the Shaker Bison on Saturday. Winning may never get old, but the Blue Streaks sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Jack Rigabar made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Alex Landau was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Raul Rodriguez, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one double.

Saratoga Springs pushed their record up to 15-6 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Shaker, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-6.

Saratoga Springs will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bison: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.
