Baseball Recap: Plattsburg Comes Up Short

Plattsburg extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 23-11. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Rock Port Blue Jays. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Jays from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

As for Rock Port, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games.

For Rock Port's part, the team relied heavily on Rylan Hunter, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Plattsburg will challenge Maryville at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rock Port, they will take on South Holt at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
