Shelbyville waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with an 8-3 victory over the Mineola Yellowjackets.

Shelbyville let Gus Duvon and Morgan Doggett run wild. Duvon went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Doggett got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. Bryant Scarborough was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Shelbyville's win bumped their record up to 18-7-1. As for Mineola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-13.

Coming up, Shelbyville will face off against Groveton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Dragons 3.8, the Indians 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
