Baseball Game Preview: Rogers Vikings vs. Scituate Spartans

For the first time this season, Rogers will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They are taking a road trip to face off against the Scituate Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rogers will be strutting in after a win while Scituate will be coming in after a loss.

While Vikings fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Monday's season opener. They came out on top against Exeter-West Greenwich by a score of 12-7 on Monday.

Jack Rosa looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Trenton Carter, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Santiago Garduno was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Scituate lost 14-1 to Pilgrim on Saturday.

Rogers came up short against Scituate in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 8-5. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
