Softball Recap: Southern Wells Comes Up Short

Southern Wells had lost seven straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 2-18 to make it eight. They lost 13-1 to the Woodlan Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 14-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Southern Wells saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyah Thomas, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Woodlan, their victory bumped their record up to 20-3. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by eight runs or more this season.

On Woodlan's side, they got a massive performance out of Addison Klotz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Harvey, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Southern Wells wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-2 loss against Southwood on the 16th. As for Woodlan, they have also already played their next game, a 9-3 defeat against Carroll on the 16th.
