University faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Bulldogs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Wolverines, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Bulldogs sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Delaney Lauer paced University's offense, picking up 22 kills. Lauer got some help from Kenley Rudiger and her 48 assists. Livianna Aguilar controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.
Ava Johnson and Brooke Wildhagen certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Johnson had 28 digs and seven assists, while Wildhagen had six digs and four aces.
University's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Chaparral, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 15-5.
