Softball Recap: Harrison Central Finds Home Field Redemption Against East Liverpool

There's no place like home for Harrison Central, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the East Liverpool Potters with a sharp 9-0 win on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Potters: they've now won five in a row.

Harrison Central got a great performance from Emma Skinner as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. Skinner has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 21 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kelsey Powers was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Tonkovich, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Harrison Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Liverpool only posted a batting average of .045.

Harrison Central's record now sits at 18-8. As for East Liverpool, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-25.

Looking ahead, Harrison Central will host Philo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Liverpool does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
