Baseball Recap: Murphysboro Takes a Loss

Murphysboro fell victim to Jacobs and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Golden Eagles, falling 7-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Red Devils were not able to get on the board.

Murphysboro dropped their record down to 4-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Jacobs, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Looking ahead, Murphysboro will be playing in front of their home fans against Wayne City at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wayne City has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.8 runs per game on average), something Murphysboro will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Jacobs, they will face off against Cathedral at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
