Softball Recap: Cypress Creek Victorious

Cypress Creek owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Springstead Eagles by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Coyotes.

Emily Bowling was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Oakley Riley was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Lily Briscoe was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Cypress Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .424. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Springstead only posted a batting average of .136.

Cypress Creek's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-9. As for Springstead, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-7 record this season.

Cypress Creek will have a chance to go back-to-back against Springstead: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
