Soccer Recap: Ray Comes Up Short

Ray entered their matchup against Gregory-Portland on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Ray Texans lost 8-0 to the Gregory-Portland Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Texans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 284th, while the Wildcats are ranked 128th).

Ray's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4-2. As for Gregory-Portland, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

Ray has already played their next contest (against King), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Gregory-Portland will look to defend their home pitch on February 4th against Flour Bluff at 7:30 p.m.
