North Port and Fort Myers are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2016, but likely not for long. The Bobcats will welcome the Green Wave at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North Port will be strutting in after a win while Fort Myers will be coming in after a loss.
North Port headed into their last game having not scored more than two runs for five straight, but Lehigh let them put that streak behind them. The Bobcats' pitchers stepped up to hand the Lightning an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Lightning recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Stephen Commander and Blake Naylor were a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Commander pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Naylor didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over four innings pitched. What's more, Commander posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. At bat, Commander scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances, while Naylor scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
In other batting news, Landon Davidson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also brought in three RBI, which is notable because North Port is 4-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 5-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Rylan Bradley, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Fort Myers entered their match against Palmetto Ridge on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Green Wave fell just short of the Bears by a score of 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Green Wave have suffered since February 25th.
Ashton Mora was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Best, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Fort Myers' loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for North Port, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 9-14.
North Port suffered a grim 16-1 defeat to Fort Myers when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Bobcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
