Soccer Game Preview: Walnut vs. Claremont

The Walnut Mustangs and the Claremont Wolfpack will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Walnut is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season.

Walnut is headed into the contest without a loss and will look to keep things rolling. Their defense stepped up to hand Pomona a 9-0 shutout on Thursday. Paul Acosta was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Claremont's offense. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Upland an easy 3-0 victory. The Wolfpack have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Claremont now has a losing record at 1-2-1. As for Walnut, their win bumped their record up to 6-0-2.
