Soccer Game Preview: Plano East vs. Plano West

An exciting East v. West battle is about to be fought. The Plano East Panthers will square off against the Plano West Wolves at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Plano East's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 7-0 margin over Princeton. Considering Plano East's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Plano West earned a 2-0 win over McKinney Boyd on Friday. Given Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Broncos are ranked 93rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Plano East's record is now 7-5. As for Plano West, their record now sits at 8-3.

Plano East was able to grind out a solid victory over Plano West in their previous meeting back in January, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Plano East since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
