Volleyball Recap: Evergreen Comes Up Short + How To Watch

After flying high against Wheat Ridge on Tuesday, Evergreen came back down to earth. The Cougars fell 3-1 to the Conifer Lobos on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cougars of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Evergreen started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-16, 25-11, 25-20.

Among those leading the charge was Hayden Buscher, who hit 100% for six kills and 15 digs and two blocks. That's the most digs she has posted since back in October of 2024.

Evergreen dropped their record down to 6-10 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Conifer, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season.

Evergreen will be playing in front of their home fans against Lakewood at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Conifer has already played their next matchup (against Heritage), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
