Baseball Recap: Salpointe Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Salpointe Catholic came out on top against St. Mary on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive seven-run fourth inning. The Lancers narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Knights 9-8. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lancers.

Colton Raetzman and Anthony Milo did most of the damage at the plate: Raetzman got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Milo went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Shannon, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Salpointe Catholic's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for St. Mary's, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-12.

Looking ahead, Salpointe Catholic will square off against Bradshaw Mountain at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bears have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season. St. Mary's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
