Volleyball Recap: Marshall Takes a Loss

Marshall was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Manitowoc Lincoln Ships.

Carly Checky paced Marshall's offense, picking up ten kills. Checky got some help from Ava Neuberger and her 20 assists. Summer Hellenbrand and Kennedy Weisensel kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

Marshall's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Marshall has already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Regis on the 29th. As for Manitowoc Lincoln, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West De Pere at 7:00 p.m. on September 30.
