Baseball Game Preview: Christopher Cougars vs. Leigh Longhorns

For the second straight game, Christopher will face off against Leigh. The Cougars will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Longhorns at 4:30 p.m. Christopher has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight losses, while Leigh will come in with three straight victories.

Christopher's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Wednesday's struggle, when Leigh hitters got past them. The Cougars lost 10-0 to the Longhorns on Wednesday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Cougars haven't been shut out since back in March.

For Leigh's part, they let Dylan Christian and Lance Takamura run wild. Christian went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Takamura went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those four RBI gave Christian a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Michael Mogannam, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Leigh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in four consecutive contests.

Christopher's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Leigh, their win bumped their record up to 19-4.
