Soccer Recap: Sterling Comes Up Short

Sterling was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 4-0 to the Orion/Sherrard United. While losing is never fun, Sterling can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Orion/Sherrard are ranked 79th).

Sterling's loss dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Orion/Sherrard, the victory (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Coming up, Sterling will head out on the road to take on Quincy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Orion/Sherrard, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Macomb at 6:00 p.m.
