Volleyball Recap: Wayne Takes a Loss

Wayne lost against Norfolk Catholic back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Blue Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knights. The Blue Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wayne was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-17.

Alexis Legler paced Wayne's offense, picking up five kills. Legler got some help from Mallory Redden and her ten assists. Redden also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kamden Dobbins, racking up two apiece.

Norfolk Catholic found their leader in sophomore Reese Timmerman, who had eight digs and three aces. Those three aces set a new season-high mark for Timmerman.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Norfolk Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.

Wayne has already played their next contest (against Cedar Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Norfolk Catholic, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Crofton on Tuesday.
