Baseball Game Preview: Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks vs. Ridgewood Rebels

The Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks are taking a road trip to take on the Ridgewood Rebels at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Steinmetz College Prep has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Steinmetz College Prep couldn't beat Amundsen on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the third inning. The Silver Streaks took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. The Silver Streaks have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Meanwhile, Ridgewood had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything went their way against Streamwood on Thursday as they made off with a 13-3 win. With that victory, the Rebels brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Kyle Szewczyk was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Angelo Vitale was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Ridgewood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are undefeated (6-0) when they post 11 or more hits.

Steinmetz College Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 8-23. As for Ridgewood, they now have a winning record of 15-14-1.

Steinmetz College Prep might still be hurting after the 16-1 loss they got from Ridgewood in their previous matchup back in June of 2021. Can the Silver Streaks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
