Baseball Game Preview: Westfall Mustangs vs. Chillicothe Cavaliers

The Westfall Mustangs will challenge the Chillicothe Cavaliers at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Westfall is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.1 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Westfall turned things around against Adena on Wednesday. They skirted past the Warriors 5-3.

Caleb Lowe was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Lowe wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Collins, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Chillicothe fell victim to Washington and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Blue Lions.

Chillicothe dropped their record down to 7-10 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Westfall, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Westfall got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Chillicothe by a conclusive 14-4 score. Do the Mustangs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavaliers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
