Softball Preview: Louisville Wildcats vs. Kosciusko Whippets        
        
		
            Louisville hasn't had much luck against Kosciusko recently, but that could start to change  on Monday. The Louisville Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kosciusko Whippets  at 5:00  p.m. One thing working in Louisville's favor is that they have posted at least ten  runs  every time they've taken the field this season.
Louisville took a loss when they played away from home  on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed  on Thursday. They blew past Grace Christian 16-1. Considering the Wildcats have won four matchups by more than nine  runs this season, Thursday's  blowout was nothing new.

 Avery Thompkins made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit (and only one walk). Those  seven  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was even better at the plate,  going a perfect 1-for-1 with one  home run, two  stolen bases,  and two  runs.
 In other batting news,  Ker'rhianna Parker was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Parker is  crushing it when it comes to  stolen bases: she's   stole at least one every time she's  taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was  Kaylee Goss, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 2-for-2.
 Louisville  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of 1.000. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an  OBP of .562 or higher in three consecutive  contests.
 Meanwhile,  everything went Kosciusko's way against Germantown on Friday as Kosciusko made off with  a  12-5 win.
 Louisville's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 5-2-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Kosciusko, they now  have a winning record of 3-2.
