Volleyball Recap: Robert C. Byrd Has No Trouble Against Elkins + How To Watch

Robert C. Byrd hadn't beaten Elkins on the road since September 8, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 3-0 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Eagles have posted against the Tigers since October 28, 2021.

While Robert C. Byrd won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-22, 25-13.

Alayna Hoskinson had an outrageously good game as she had 19 digs and five aces. That's the most digs she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Morgan Hawkins, who had five kills, four blocks, and three aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Robert C. Byrd was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Robert C. Byrd is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-15 record this season. As for Elkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-19-1.

Robert C. Byrd has already played their next match, a 3-2 loss against Bridgeport on the 3rd. Hopefully Elkins paid attention to the Eagles' matchup: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
