Marquette extended their winning streak to six on Saturday, bumping their season record up to 23-3 in the process. They put the hurt on the Centennial Chargers with a sharp 9-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won 16 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 15-10 Tolono Unity (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 74.2% over those games).

For Centennial's part, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cal Meyers, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.

Coming up, Marquette is taking a road trip to challenge Tolono Unity at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Centennial, they will welcome Urbana at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chargers are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
