Basketball Game Preview: Millbury Woolies vs. Prouty Panthers

The Millbury Woolies will venture away from home to take on the Prouty Panthers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Millbury will head out to face Prouty after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. Millbury took a 49-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Leominster. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Woolies came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 65th).

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Prouty, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Sunday. They walked away with a 57-44 win over Leicester on Tuesday.

Prouty's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for Millbury, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.

Millbury came up short against Prouty in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 48-38. Can Millbury avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
