Baseball Recap: Waynesville Takes a Loss

Waynesville lost against Franklin back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Spartans lost 12-3 to the Wildcats.

Waynesville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Papanek, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another was Kellen Philpot, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Waynesville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Franklin, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Waynesville and Franklin will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Spartans will challenge rival Brookville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Franklin is set to face off against their familiar foe Monroe at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
