Baseball Recap: Martin Luther King Extends Winning Streak to Four

It's playoff time, and Martin Luther King had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the West Philadelphia Speedboys with a sharp 12-5 win on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on four straight.

Kingsley Snyder made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avery Jackson, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Eli Mobley was another key player, earning one RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

Martin Luther King pushed their record up to 10-1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9 runs. As for West Philadelphia, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
