Montabella entered their tilt with Carson City-Crystal on Thursday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 49-40 victory over the Carson City-Crystal Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 51-48 back in December of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Carson City-Crystal lost, don't look at Cole Smith. Despite the final result, he went 5 of 11 on his way to 17 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Isaah Kirvan, who posted six points.

Montabella's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Carson City-Crystal, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

Montabella will square off against Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carson City-Crystal, they will host Bath at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
