Tellico Plains had to endure  a  six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the McMinn Central Chargers on Wednesday, sneaking past  7-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  victory the Bears have posted  since April 6, 2024.
 Skyler Day spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered  just two earned  (and four unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up nine Ks.
 On the hitting side,  Kadence Moses was  incredible,  scoring three  runs and  stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high.  Kalli Yates-Matoy also deserves some recognition as  she  brought in her first  RBI of the season.
 Tellico Plains  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They are  a perfect 3-0 when  they post two or more  strikeouts.
Tellico Plains' win bumped their record up to 3-8. As for McMinn Central, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 10-8.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tellico Plains will venture away from home to  square off against Copper Basin  at 5:00  p.m.  on Friday. As for McMinn Central, they will challenge Ooltewah at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Owls' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8  runs per game  this season, so the Chargers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
