Baseball Game Preview: Weddington Warriors vs. Marvin Ridge Mavericks

For the second straight game, Weddington will face off against Marvin Ridge. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Mavericks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Weddington 3.6, Marvin Ridge 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Weddington is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Marvin Ridge, who was ranked 16th at the time (Weddington was ranked seventh). The Warriors took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Mavericks on Tuesday. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marvin Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Weddington, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-6.
