Kenedy won the last time they faced Pettus and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kenedy Lions secured a 56-50 W over the Pettus Eagles. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Despite the defeat, Pettus saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Hayleigh Cruz posted 23 points and three steals. The game was Cruz's third in a row with at least ten points. Celine Cantu was another key player, putting up eight points and six steals.

Kenedy's victory bumped their record up to 10-11. As for Pettus, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 14 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Kenedy will be playing at home against Woodsboro at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Pettus, they will venture away from home to square off against Yorktown at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
