Basketball Recap: Eagle Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

On Thursday, Eagle faced Timberline in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Eagle Mustangs put the hurt on the Timberline Wolves with a sharp 55-32 victory. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Leading Eagle to victory were Porter Wood and Berkley Jones. Wood almost dropped a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds, while Jones went 8-for-13 on her way to 20 points and five boards. What's more, Wood also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in January of 2024. Taya Nelson was another key player, putting up six points.

The win (which was Eagle's seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.4 points over those games. As for Timberline, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-9.

Eagle has already played their next game, a 50-46 victory against Owyhee on the 8th. As for Timberline, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-28 win against Ridgevue on the 8th.
