Volleyball Recap: Tri-Valley Scotties vs. River View Black Bears
Tri-Valley came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the River View Black Bears, falling 3-0. The Scotties have struggled against the Black Bears recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 25-21.
Emma Smith paced Tri-Valley's offense, picking up eight kills. Smith got some help from Ingrid Dittmar and her 20 assists. Reagan Lamonica controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
River View was led to victory by Lindyn Fry and Kelsie Smith. Fry had 21 digs and three assists, while Smith hit 100% for five kills and 17 digs and three aces. Smith has been hot for a while, having also posted 16 or more assists the last 43 times she's played.
Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for River View, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Tri-Valley and River View should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Scotties will square off against Crooksville at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (207 vs. 664). Meanwhile, River View (ranked 94th) will meet Heath (ranked 300th) at 11:30 a.m. on October 4.
