Baseball Game Preview: Horizon Christian Hawks vs. Valley Catholic Valiants

The Horizon Christian Hawks will take on the Valley Catholic Valiants at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Horizon Christian's offense. They lost 8-0 to Blanchet Catholic on Saturday. The match marked the first time this season in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Valley Catholic also failed to score in their most recent game. They came up short against Banks on Monday, falling 17-0. Surprisingly, this marked the Valiants' fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Valley Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Yee, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Horizon Christian and nudges their season record down to 9-5. As for Valley Catholic, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9-1 record this season.

Horizon Christian beat Valley Catholic 8-3 in their previous matchup on April 9th. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Valiants have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
