Preview: Girard Yellowjackets vs. General McLane Lancers
Girard is 0-1 against General McLane since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Girard Yellowjackets will head out on the road to face off against the General McLane Lancers at 7:00 p.m. Girard is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
Last Thursday, Girard took a serious blow against Corry, falling 42-14.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for General McLane on the road against Fairview on Friday as the squad secured a 42-7 victory. With General McLane ahead 27-7 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
General McLane can attribute much of their success to Magnus Lloyd, who rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns. Jacob Zietz also deserves a shout-out for his three touchdowns.
General McLane's win bumped their season record to 4-4 while Girard's defeat dropped theirs to 2-5.
Girard lost to General McLane on the road by a decisive 35-20 margin when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Can Girard avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
