Softball Recap: Vestaburg Comes Up Short

Vestaburg extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to four on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 11-0 to the Coleman Comets. The Wolverines were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Comets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2025.

As for Coleman, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 7.0 runs this season.

For Coleman's part, Kendall Allen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Allen has posted since back in May of 2025. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Klaira Sysak, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Aryianna Blubaugh was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Coleman beat Vestaburg by a score of 13-2 later that day.
