Football Recap: Grundy Center Skates Past Garner-Hayfield/Ventura with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Grundy Center). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Garner-Hayfield/Ventura Cardinals 49-7. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Spartans' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa football rankings (they are ranked first, while the Cardinals are ranked 202nd).

Grundy Center's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Garner-Hayfield/Ventura, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Grundy Center is set to challenge their familiar foe Clarion-Goldfield/DOWS at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Garner-Hayfield/Ventura will take on rival South Hardin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
