Westview waltzed into their match on Friday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They put the hurt on the Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers with a sharp 12-1 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Chargers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Myles McEwen looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).

At the plate, Casen Spaulding and Cooper Spaulding did most of the damage at the plate: Casen scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-1, while Cooper scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Cooper has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Thomas Myers was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2.

Westview hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Westview pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Westview will face off against Hamilton at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. As for Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central Tigers duke it out with Camden Central Lions at 5:00 a.m. on Thursday.
