Baseball Game Preview: Central Cabarrus Vikings vs. South Rowan Raiders

Central Cabarrus hasn't had much luck against South Rowan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Central Cabarrus Vikings will venture away from home to face off against the South Rowan Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Central Cabarrus is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 12-8 win over A.L. Brown on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Wonders: they've now won four in a row.

Connor Dowd and Jackson Parsons did most of the damage at the plate: Dowd scored a run while going 3-for-3, while Parsons scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Parsons a new career-high in stolen bases. Keyen Elbe also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Central Cabarrus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, South Rowan came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victor by a 14-4 margin over the Spiders. Considering the Raiders have won three games by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

South Rowan pushed their record up to 4-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.2 runs. As for Central Cabarrus, their record is now 2-3.
