Softball Game Preview: Drummond Lumberjacks vs. Mellen Granite Diggers

For the second straight game, Drummond will face off against Mellen. The Lumberjacks will be playing at home against the Granite Diggers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Drummond has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with eight straight defeats, while Mellen will come in with five straight wins.

Drummond managed to slip by Mellen the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Lumberjacks came up short against the Granite Diggers on Tuesday, falling 11-1.

Mellen pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Drummond, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
