Basketball Recap: Hazelwood West Sets Scoring Season-High Against Fox

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hazelwood West). They claimed a resounding 74-26 victory over the Fox Warriors. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 21 points or more this season.

Jamiah Herring-Green was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 11 steals. The contest was her eighth in a row with at least 16 points. Ava Wilson was another key player, going 7-for-11 en route to 18 points and seven steals.

Hazelwood West smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Hazelwood West is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.9 points over those games. As for Fox, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hazelwood West will challenge Kirkwood at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fox, they will take on Festus at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
