Softball Recap: Lockport Extends Winning Streak to Four

Lockport had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They skirted past the Lincoln-Way West Warriors 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Porters have posted since May 18, 2024.

Kelcie McGraw spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addison Way, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Lane, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Lockport's victory bumped their record up to 12-8. As for Lincoln-Way West, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.

Looking ahead, Lockport will host Homewood-Flossmoor at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lincoln-Way West, they will head out to challenge Marist at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
