Basketball Recap: Ringgold Skates Past Glenbrook with Ease

Ringgold won the last time they faced Glenbrook and things went their way on Friday too. The Ringgold Redskins blew past the Glenbrook Apaches, posting a 72-32 victory. That looming 72-32 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Redskins yet this season.

Ringgold had a senior duo take command as LaDaunte McCoy went 10 of 14 on his way to 21 points along with seven rebounds and three steals and Keenan Johnson went 6 for 12 en route to 14 points and four steals. The match was McCoy's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Silas Savage, who posted ten points.

Ringgold was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glenbrook only racked up five assists.

Glenbrook's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Ricord, who earned six points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The dominant performance also gave Ricord a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Dalton Harber was another key player, putting up four points.

Ringgold is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-17 record this season. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy: their three-point shooting accuracy was 41.1% in those games and 29.6% outside of them. As for Glenbrook, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-14.

Coming up, Ringgold will head out to square off against Haynesville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ringgold knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Haynesville likes a good challenge. As for Glenbrook, they are taking a road trip to take on Jonesboro-Hodge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
