Baseball Recap: Santa Clara Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

Santa Clara barely beat Cupertino the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bruins put the hurt on the Pioneers with a sharp 15-6 win on Tuesday. The Bruins haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Drew Diffenderfer made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

In other batting news, Santa Clara let Charles Conley and Connor Houle run wild. Conley got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Houle went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Houle is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Greg Salgado was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Santa Clara kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.
