Basketball Recap: Wewahitchka Comes Up Short

Wewahitchka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 64-45 to the Liberty County Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 85-65 back in January.

Despite the loss, Wewahitchka still got an impressive performance from Kaden Brooks, who posted 11 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Antone Mcnealy, who had eight points.

Liberty County was led to victory by Kashon Chambers and Micheal Glisson. Chambers dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds, while Glisson almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine assists. The matchup was Chambers' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Walker, who scored eight points and seven boards.

Wewahitchka's defeat dropped their record down to 5-16. As for Liberty County, their win bumped their record up to 16-4.

Wewahitchka will challenge Aucilla Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Aucilla Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.6 points per game this season. Liberty County has already played their next contest, a 47-44 victory against Poplar Springs on the 30th.
