Softball Recap: Father McGivney Catholic Comes Up Short

Father McGivney Catholic came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Okawville Rockets, falling 20-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Griffins of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Father McGivney Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Morgan Zobrist, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Father McGivney Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Okawville, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Father McGivney Catholic didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 victory against Metro-East Lutheran on the 24th. As for Okawville, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Wesclin on the 24th.
