Baseball Recap: Clover's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Monday

It was a good run, but Clover unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets by a score of 4-2. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Eagles of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Clover saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was TJ McCluney, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Gavin McNulty also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Clover's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-3. As for Fort Mill, their record now sits at 5-2.

While Clover had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
