Baseball Game Preview: Rockport-Fulton Pirates vs. Jones Trojans

Rockport-Fulton has gone 8-2 against Jones recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Rockport-Fulton Pirates will head out to take on the Jones Trojans at 7:00 p.m. The last three games Rockport-Fulton has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Rockport-Fulton's win against West Oso wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Rockport-Fulton narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past West Oso 9-8.

The team relied heavily on Jaxon Keown, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Sean Howell was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, Jones was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 17-2 to Victoria East.

Jones saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Montoya, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

Rockport-Fulton's win bumped their record up to 8-5-1. As for Jones, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9-1.

Rockport-Fulton's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's match. Rockport-Fulton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Jones, though, as they've been averaging only 0.7 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Rockport-Fulton continue to outrun the ball?
