Baseball Recap: Bridgewater-Raritan Victorious

Bridgewater-Raritan can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Clearview Pioneers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 26th.

Arnav Vajjhala looked comfortable as he pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Bridgewater-Raritan is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-13 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Matthew Lehberger, who went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Timothy Park, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Bridgewater-Raritan's victory bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Clearview, they dropped their record down to 16-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bridgewater-Raritan will face off against Cherokee at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clearview, they will challenge Audubon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Pioneers 3.5, the Green Wave 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
